il CenterResearch International LLC (OCRI) of
Lafayette, Louisiana,was launched in1997 for
the solepurposeof exportinga lineofgoods
thatwere locallyproduced. From thebeginning,
100percentof thecompany’s saleswereexports.
OCRI’sproductsare sold toawidevarietyofbusiness-
es, and its cataloghasgrown to includemore than
1,000products.
Over theyears,OCRI hasworkedwith theU.S.
Commercial Service, Lafayette International Center
(formerlyLeCentre International), and theLouisiana
EconomicDevelopmentAuthorityon international
market researchandexportprojects.
OCRI alsohasparticipated inanumberofwebinars,
seminars, andclasseson topics ranging from the
basicsof exporting todrillingopportunitiesabroad
offeredby theU.S. Commercial Service through the
U.S. ExportAssistanceCenter inNewOrleans.These
sessionshavehelped thecompany reachout tonew
customersand increaseexport sales. In fact,OCRI used
information from theU.S. Commercial Service tofind
an important tradeconsultant.
Trademissions, grants, presentations, advertising,
andparticipation inU.S. pavilionsat international
tradeshowsareotherways inwhichOCRI has lever-
agedgovernment resources.

opportunitiesandalsomet existingcustomers.With
thegrantswewereable toparticipate inmore trade
missionsand travel.The fundswereput togreatuse
byeducatingemployeesandextensive travel.The
benefitsof theseprogramsare immeasurabledue to
thevaluegainedby thecompany.”
OCRI hasnowexported tomore than130coun-
trieson sixdifferent continents.Over thepastfive
years, thecompanyhasnearlydoubled itsnumberof
employees.Thisgrowthhasbeen fueledby increased
sales, allowingOCRI tocaptureopportunities inex-
pandingmarkets.
OCRI’sperseveranceanddedication to increasingU.S.
exports resulted in thecompany receivinganExport
AchievementCertificate, an InternationalAchievement
Award, and the2010Presidential“E”Award forExports.
Most recently, onMay18, 2015,OCRIwasonceagain
honored inWashington,D.C. bySecretaryofCommerce
PennyPritzkerwith thePresident’s“E”StarAward for
Exports in recognitionof thecompany’scommitment
toexporting.
